Lavender and Calendula Healing Salve is an addition you need in your natural home pharmacy. It is a lovely herbal salve to use as a skin soother/wound healer and for muscle and joint pain.
I love making Calendula and Lavender Salve. I started by infusing dried Calendula flowers and dried Lavender Flowers in olive oil. Jars full of flowers and olive oil sit on my kitchen windowsill for 4-6 weeks. Then I strain the oil and store in clean jars.
The salve is made by melting beeswax, stirring in the herbal infused oil, and adding Lavender essential oil. I pour it into 2 oz. tins and let it cool.
Calendula is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial, is useful for healing wounds, soothing eczema, soothes insect bites, minor cuts, scrapes and burns.
Lavender essential oil: is anti-inflammatory, good for relieving muscular aches and pains, arthritis, tendonitis, burns, scrapes. It also promotes wound healing, soothes eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, and relieves itching, and hives.
How to use: This gentle salve can be used to soothe minor cuts, burns, rashes, scrapes, and for bug bites. It can also be used for sore muscles or joints, tendonitis, arthritis, Calendula and Lavender are both gentle enough to use on babies and children.
